International silence on the brutality of Pak Army in PoK

The Pakistani Army is wreaking havoc on the unarmed people who have come out on the streets demanding basic facilities and rights in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). In the last two weeks, more than 50 civilians have become victims of bullets by Pakistani soldiers, but America, European countries or Islamic organizations, which educate India on human rights violations, are completely silent on this cruelty. Neither do they see the blood of innocents being shed by Pakistan nor are they concerned about the threat to the dignity of the women and daughters there.

On the contrary, the Government of India has not only accelerated industrial development in Jammu and Kashmir but has also established medical and engineering colleges on a large scale. The government is working with full force on the development of basic facilities there, in which the local Omar Abdullah government is also giving full support. The increasing resources of water, electricity, roads, rail network, telecommunication and employment have proved that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas’ is bearing fruit on the ground. The people there have now understood that the government is providing them every necessary facility without asking. This is the reason why now the youth there are neither seen pelting stones nor taking part in anti-India activities.

Now Pakistan is not able to raise the issue of Jammu and Kashmir even if it wants to. He still opposes the removal of Article 370, but except a few selected countries like Turkey and Azerbaijan, no one supports him, because the whole world is watching the progress of Jammu and Kashmir and the peace maintained there. Organizations of some American and European countries raise false slogans of human rights violations in India, but they do not see the real oppression taking place in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

There, under the banner of ‘Joint Awami Action Committee’, when people took to the streets against power cuts, back-breaking inflation and heavy taxes, the Pakistani Army started crushing them with guns. This is not the first time that the army is committing such barbarity there. Even before this, every peaceful movement has been suppressed with the batons and bullets of the police and army. Despite this, the citizens there, who want independence from Pakistan, are standing strong against the repression of the army in cities like Rawalkot, Muzaffarabad and Kotli.

India has also raised this serious issue on global forums including the United Nations (UN), but leave aside the countries with veto power, even the countries calling themselves messiahs of Muslims are silent on this. From Turkey to Saudi Arabia, no Muslim country has condemned this repressive action of Pakistan. Due to this international instigation, the morale of Pakistani Army is high and its terror is continuously increasing. In its unbridled military frenzy, Pakistan is now killing innocent people including innocent children by carrying out air strikes on the Afghanistan border, due to which the entire region has reached the brink of unrest, but the silence of the global superpowers on this too is beyond comprehension.

If we look at it, the Pakistani Army has a very old history of killing innocent civilians. Fed up with the brutality of its soldiers, the people of East Pakistan revolted in 1971, after which Bangladesh was born with the help of the Indian Army. Similarly, Balochistan was merged into Pakistan on the basis of gun and even today its natural resources are being looted. Baloch civilians and youth are forcibly disappeared or killed when they protest.

China, America and western countries are turning a blind eye to this terrible violation of human rights in Balochistan and PoK. They do not even see the oppression of Uyghur Muslims in China, whereas in India, these countries raise their eyebrows at any minor incident. Even if they know that in India no one is oppressed by the state on the basis of caste or religion.

History is witness to the fact that the voice of the people cannot be suppressed for long with the help of bayonets. The separation of East Pakistan and the burning spark of independence today from Balochistan to PoK is proof that Pakistani rulers are writing the script of their own end. In such a situation, international human rights organizations, America and Muslim countries will have to give up their glasses-changing policy. Instead of running anti-India propaganda, if global superpowers do not break their silence on this grave humanitarian crisis, it will swallow the peace of entire South Asia. Now the time has come for the world to see the real oppression taking place in this part of Kashmir, because the cries of the people of PoK pleading for justice are no longer going to be suppressed by any global hypocrisy.
