Lucknow, 8 February. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Sunday that women play the most important role in building a strong society. Chief Minister Yogi stressed that the Uttar Pradesh government is fully committed to ensuring the safety, dignity and self-reliance of ‘half the population’.
‘Today daughters are working in night shift also’
CM Yogi Adityanath, in a post titled ‘Yogi Ki Paati’ on social media platform He said, “Remember, before 2017, daughters were afraid to come out of the house in the evening. There was fear in going to school and college. Crime against women was common, but today daughters are working even in night shifts. This has become possible due to clear policy and clear intentions.”
CM speaks on ‘Mission Shakti’ and ‘Anti Romeo’ campaigns
Referring to the steps taken for the safety of women during his regime, the CM said that campaigns like ‘Mission Shakti’ and ‘Anti Romeo’ have created fear in the minds of those who commit crimes against daughters. Where daughters are safe and respected, the society continues to progress. He said, “Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana is supporting the daughters at every step from birth to education. The Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme has made it possible for poor families to marry daughters with self-respect. Through the Nutrition Scheme, encouraging changes in the health of future generations have been ensured by providing better nutrition to pregnant and lactating women. The pension amount of destitute women has been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500.”
‘Women’s respect should be paramount for the entire society’
CM Yogi claimed that it is the success of these efforts of the government that today the school dropout rate of girl students has come down drastically and along with the unprecedented decline in maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate, daughters are getting equal opportunities from education to employment. The Chief Minister said, “Today, the women power of Uttar Pradesh is creating a new chapter of self-reliance. From startup to entrepreneur credit card, there are opportunities for entrepreneurship everywhere.”
