International Women’s Day: PM Modi extended best wishes, said- achievements of ‘women power’ inspire the country

New Delhi, March 8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted women across the country on International Women’s Day and praised their contribution to India’s development, saying the achievements of ‘women power’ inspire the country and strengthen its journey towards a developed India. In a series of posts on social media platform X, PM Modi said that women are playing a role of change in all fields and are at the center of the country’s progress.

He wrote, “On International Women’s Day, I congratulate all our women power. Women in every field are shaping India’s progress with determination, creativity and unmatched enthusiasm. Their achievements inspire our nation and strengthen our collective resolve to build a developed India.” Referring to the government’s focus on women empowerment, PM Modi said that many initiatives and schemes launched in the last ten years are aimed at expanding opportunities and helping women realize their full potential.

“Women’s empowerment is at the core of our various plans and initiatives. We are committed to creating opportunities that enable every woman to realize her full potential and contribute to India’s growth journey,” she said. He wrote in another post that the achievements of women across the country are shaping the future of India. Mr Modi wrote, “The achievements of India’s women power are a matter of pride and a strong reminder of the transformative role they play in nation building. As India moves forward, the aspirations and contributions of women will continue to propel our collective journey towards a stronger and happier nation.”

The Prime Minister shared a video showcasing success stories of women at the grassroots level, using the hashtag ‘Nayi Bharat Ki Nari Shakti’ and wrote, “It gives a glimpse of how the lives of women at the grassroots level have changed in the last decade.” The central government has launched several programs in recent years focused on women’s empowerment, including initiatives related to financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, health, education and sanitation.

The government has also emphasized women’s participation in fields such as science, technology, governance and armed forces. It is noteworthy that every year March 8 is celebrated as International Women’s Day across the world. It is celebrated to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women as well as promote gender equality for women around the world.
