International Yoga Day: ‘Yoga Mahotsav’ will be organized 100 days in advance, Ministry of AYUSH will organize it under a special campaign

Delhi. Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga organized Yoga Mahotsav-2026 at Vigyan Bhawan on 13 March (Friday), 100 days before International Yoga Day 2026. This yoga institute operates under the Ministry of AYUSH. With this program the 100 day countdown for International Yoga Day 2026 started. The Ministry of AYUSH has also started a special campaign in collaboration with various organizations, under which 100 organizations will promote Yoga in 100 places and cities of the country.

Yoga gurus, experts and yoga lovers participated

Many yoga gurus, experts and yoga lovers including Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of AYUSH Prataprao Jadhav, Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, President of S-Vyasa Society, Bengaluru, Dr. HR Nagendra and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH Monalisa Das participated in the program organized at Vigyan Bhawan.

Jadhav said that on the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations General Assembly had declared June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014. Today Yoga is being accepted all over the world and is an important part of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Special events at 100 major places

Jadhav said that the Ministry of AYUSH is the nodal ministry for organizing International Yoga Day every year and on this day large scale mass yoga programs are organized across the country. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, this time before the 12th International Yoga Day, special programs will be organized at 100 major places in the country, so that more and more people connect with Yoga and adopt it as a path to a healthy life.
