The number of active internet users in India is expected to reach 886 million by 2024, with a year-on-year growth of 8 percent. The report states that the number of internet users in the country is continuously increasing.

There are more internet users in rural areas of India than in cities. It was told that there are 488 million (48.8 crore) internet users in rural areas and this is 55 percent of the total internet users in the country. With this, 98 percent of the country's internet users like to watch content in Indian languages. In this, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam have emerged as the most popular.

The most interesting thing is that 47 percent of the internet users in the country are women. With this, the number of female internet users among sharing device users in rural areas has now reached 58 percent. The report also says that about 57 percent of urban internet users also prefer to consume content in regional languages. The demand for content in regional languages ​​is increasing on all platforms.

Kerala ranks first in terms of internet users with 72 percent. After this, Goa is at second place with 71 percent and Maharashtra is at third place with 70 percent. Talking about average internet usage, it is 90 minutes for Indian users. Urban users use the Internet for an average of 95 minutes every day. Whereas for rural areas it is slightly less. The average time in villages is 89 minutes.

It has been told that mobile phones are used the most to use the internet in the country. Users in rural areas are spending more time on social media along with video and music streaming on OTT apps. At the same time, urban users are using smart devices like smart TV and smart speakers more. In this, a shocking claim has also been made regarding AI. 9 out of 10 users use AI related apps.
