According to the information, this incident took place on the evening of March 9 in a residential building in Kalamboli area of Navi Mumbai. Seeing the opportunity, the accused broke the lock of a flat and entered inside the house. After this, they made away with about Rs 36 lakh worth of jewelery and cash kept in the house and fled from the spot.
After getting information about the incident, the police registered a case and started investigation. Taking this matter seriously, Navi Mumbai Crime Branch started scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas. Along with this, the activities of suspicious people were also monitored.
Jewelery worth Rs 36 lakh was stolen in a burglary in a flat in Kalamboli area of Navi Mumbai. Police have arrested three accused in this case. Taking action, the Crime Branch arrested all three from Daighar village of Thane and also recovered stolen goods from them.
The arrested accused have been identified as 25-year-old Pawan Rohidas Jadhav, 22-year-old Sumit Rohidas Jadhav and 23-year-old Shivaji Jagan Rathod. According to the police, the gold and silver items and cash stolen from the accused at the time of arrest have also been recovered.
Police say that a case of theft and house breaking has been registered against the accused. At present, he is being interrogated to find out whether he has committed a similar incident before or not.
The crime branch first examined the footage of dozens of CCTV cameras installed in and around the incident site. Some suspicious persons were seen in the footage, on the basis of which the police expanded the scope of their investigation. On the basis of technical surveillance and accurate information received from informers, the police team reached Daighar village of Thane. By laying a trap there, the police detained three suspects.
After strict interrogation, all three accused confessed to the burglary that took place in Kalamboli. On their information, the police have recovered stolen jewelery and other items worth Rs 36 lakh.
