Invest ₹22 thousand, get ₹5.5 lakh? Viral video in the name of Finance Minister turned out to be fake, this is how a big fraud is happening
Tezzbuzz Desk- These days, a video in the name of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going viral on social media, in which it is being claimed that by investing only Rs 22,000, one can get returns of up to Rs 5.5 lakh in a week. However, government agencies have called this claim completely fake and misleading.
After examining this video, the Fact Check Unit of Press Information Bureau (PIB) has made it clear that it is a deepfake video made through AI technology. In this, the voice and face of the Finance Minister have been digitally morphed, so that people can be confused.
Logos of big companies like HDFC Bank, State Bank of India and Reliance Industries are being shown in the video, which makes the video look more trustworthy. Besides, claims like rapidly increasing earnings and “government guarantee” are also being made.
PIB has clarified that the Government of India or the Ministry of Finance has not approved or endorsed any investment platform that claims huge profits in such a short period of time. Such claims are usually made to dupe people.
According to experts, such videos are created using “deepfake” technology, in which the identity of a famous person is falsely used. Its purpose is to lure people to earn quick money and obtain their bank details, OTP or investment amount.
The government and PIB have appealed to the people to verify any investment scheme from official sources before trusting it. Do not click on suspicious links and do not share your personal or banking information with anyone.
If you find any such fake video or message, immediately report it to PIB Fact Check Unit via WhatsApp number +91 8799711259 or email.
Experts say that it is almost impossible to get such high returns in such a short period in real investment. In such a situation, the safest option is to be wary of any “get rich quick” offer.
