iPhone like camera will soon come on Android, Google’s new special preparation

New Delhi: Soon, file sharing and contact transfer will become even easier for Android users. Google is preparing to introduce a new feature called ‘Tap to Share’, which will work like the famous NameDrop feature of iPhone. With this feature, users will be able to share data easily by just bringing two smartphones closer.

This feature will support many types of content including contacts, photos, videos, links and location data. Android Authority has discovered this feature hidden in the code of Google Play Services based on input from tipster AssembleDebug.

What is Tap to Share feature?

Tap to Share is an easy and user-friendly sharing tool. In this, users will just have to unlock both the Android phones and keep them side by side. Typically the connection will be made by overlapping the top edges of both phones or placing them screen to screen. Once the connection is successful, a soft glow animation will appear on the screen, confirming that the devices have been connected and the transfer has begun.

This is how the feature will work

Both devices must be unlocked for the transfer to begin. On bringing the phone closer, a soft glow animation will be seen, which will indicate the success of the connection. If the connection is not made, users may have to try the method of placing the phones back to back. This extra step is necessary because the position of the NFC antenna varies in different Android phones. The overlap method improves alignment.

When will Tap to Share feature come?

Google has not yet officially announced this feature. It is still in the development stage. Looking at the leaked information and system integration, it is expected that this feature may launch with Android 17 later this year.
