iPhone SE 4 Big Update: Large Screen ‘Plus Models’ Unlikely To Be Launched

According to a recent rumor, Apple may be creating a larger “Plus” model of the next iPhone SE 4, although this assertion seems questionable given prior claims and Apple’s approach to low-cost iPhones.

Citing unverified sources from Alibaba, the Japanese blog Mac Otakara released pictures of purported iPhone SE 4 dummy units, suggesting that both 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch variants would be in development.

Apple Might Not Launch Larger SE Device

According to reports, the fake devices have the same design as the iPhone 14, which includes a single back camera and a notched display. This is consistent with previous rumors regarding the design of the iPhone SE 4.

Since no other leakers or supply chain sources have brought up a larger SE model, the assertion of a larger model runs counter to earlier claims about Apple’s ambitions.

In the past, Mac Otakara has given accurate information, but it has also made unsubstantiated assertions, which suggests that its reporting is not always reliable.

“Final precision design and size expansion have not been decided,” Mac Otakara said, casting doubt on their own assertions. The blog states “final precision design and size expansion have not been decided.”

Additionally, the blog told MacRumors that it might only produce the 6.1-inch variant, “It is possible that only the 6.1-inch model will actually be released.”

Although Apple’s plans are subject to change, the current data suggests that a larger model is unlikely, particularly in light of the Plus models’ dismal sales in the company’s flagship smartphone lineup.

Anticipated for release in March 2025, the iPhone SE 4 is anticipated to have a 48MP primary camera, an A18 CPU, an OLED screen rather than an LCD, Face ID in place of Touch ID, and a new Apple-designed 5G modem.

iPhone SE 4 To Be Launched in Six Months

There were reports that 9to5 Mac has stated that Apple would release the iPhone SE 4 in around six months.

This is the first upgrade for the iPhone SE series in nearly three years, and it is anticipated to be the biggest makeover since the line’s inception.

We had earlier reported that many of the features of the iPhone 16 are anticipated to be present in the iPhone SE 4 and it is expected that the iPhone SE 4 will be on sale in the first quarter of 2025.

Due to its enhanced features, the iPhone SE 4 will cost more than its predecessor, but with its dynamic pricing, it will still be among the least priced devices in Apple’s lineup.
