Sudarshan completed his 2000 runs in IPL as soon as he completed the 72nd run in his innings. He has become the player to score 2000 runs in the shortest number of innings in IPL history, achieving this feat in 47 innings. In this list he left behind Chris Kell (48 innings).

As an Indian player, Sudarshan has come sixth in terms of completing 2000 IPL runs in the fewest balls. He has achieved this milestone in 1361 balls.

After being invited to bat first, Gujarat got off to a great start and Sudarshan along with captain Shubman Gill added 128 runs in 12.4 overs for the first wicket. Gill played an innings of 32 runs in 24 balls.
