RCB’s 263 Run Match Where Bhuvneshwar Kumar Gave Just 23 Runs for Pune Worriors

Pune Warriors captain Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to field first, which Chris Gayle left no stone unturned in proving wrong. RCB’s opening batsman scored fifty in just 17 balls, century in 30 balls and 150 runs in 53 balls. He remained unbeaten after scoring 175 runs in 66 balls, hitting 17 sixes and 13 fours.
Due to Gayle’s explosive innings, RCB scored 50 runs in 4.5 overs. Completed 100 runs in 7.5 overs, 150 runs in 11.5 overs, 200 runs in 15.5 overs and 250 runs in 18.4 overs. When the innings ended, there were 263 runs on the scoreboard at the loss of 5 wickets. Apart from Gayle, Tillakaratne Dilshan scored 33, captain Virat Kohli scored 11, AB de Villiers scored 31 and Saurabh Tiwari scored 2 runs. Whereas, Ravi Rampal was out without opening the account.

Captain Aaron Finch gave 29 runs in 1 over, after which he did not come to bowl again. Apart from them, Ishwar Pandey gave 33 runs in 2 overs, Ashok Dinda gave 48 runs in 4 overs, Mitchell Marsh gave 56 runs in 3 overs and Ali Mortaza gave 45 runs in 2 overs.
Pune Warriors’ batting was a flop
- While chasing the target of 264 runs set by RCB, Pune Warriors team could score only 133 runs for 9 wickets, due to which they had to face a crushing defeat by 130 runs.
- Opener Robin Uthappa was out on the second ball of the first over without opening the account. After this, the sequence of wickets falling did not stop till the end.
- Captain Finch scored 18, Yuvraj Singh 16. Luke Wright scored 7, Steve Smith 41, Mitchell Marsh 24, Mithun Manhas (who is now the BCCI President) scored 11 not out, Bhuvneshwar Kumar scored 6 and Ali Mortaza scored 5 runs, while Ishwar Pandey could not even open his account.
- Ravi Rampal, Jaydev Unadkat and Chris Gayle took 2-2 wickets for Pune Warriors. Whereas Murali Karthik, RP Singh and Vinay Kumar got 1 wicket each. Gayle was chosen player of the match for his excellent performance.
