IPL 2025 Mega Auction Venue and Date: The time for which the fans were eagerly waiting has arrived. Actually, BCCI has announced the date of the mega auction for IPL 2025. The mega auction will be organized on 24th and 25th of this month, which will be held in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. Earlier reports were coming out that the mega auction would be organized in Riyadh, but now BCCI has put a complete stop to all the speculations. Along with this, some more important information has also been given by the board.

1572 players registered for IPL 2025 Mega Auction

This time 1572 players have registered their names for the IPL 2025 mega auction, this information was received through the media advisory of IPL. Registration was open till November 4. Of these, 1165 Indian and 409 foreign players have registered. This list includes 320 capped and 1224 uncapped players as well as 30 players from Associate Nations.

South African players have got the maximum number of registrations in foreign countries. 91 players from South Africa have registered. Apart from this, Afghanistan (29), Australia (76), Bangladesh (13), Canada (4), England (52), Ireland (9), Italy (1), Netherlands (12), New Zealand (39), Scotland (2) Players from Sri Lanka (29), UAE (1), USA (10), West Indies (33) and Zimbabwe (8) have also registered their names for the auction.

How many slots will be available in IPL 2025 Mega Auction?

There will be 204 slots available in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Each franchise can include a maximum of 25 players in its squad. Now it remains to be seen how many players BCCI includes in the list for the auction.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, all the franchises were asked to submit their retention lists by October 31. 46 players have been retained by all the 10 franchises. Heinrich Klaasen has earned the most during retention. SRH has retained him for Rs 23 crores. At the same time, Virat Kohli has been retained as the most expensive among Indian players. RCB has retained him for Rs 21 crore.
