IPL 2025 auction will be held outside India, name of date and place revealed

Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has started preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be held in 2025. Even though there is still a lot of time left for IPL 2025 to be organised, many news related to it are already coming out. This time a mega auction is going to be organized for IPL, in which big changes can be seen in the teams. Many key players can be seen moving to new teams.

BCCI has issued retention rules before the mega auction. Each franchise can retain a maximum of 6 players, but doing so will not allow them to use the Right to Match Card (RTM) during the auction. If a team retains 5 players, it can use the RTM card. Now another big news has come before the auction.

IPL auction may be held in Riyadh

According to a report by StarSports, Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh has been selected for the auction. Mega auction may be held on 24 and 25 November.

Last time the mini auction was held at Coca Cola Arena in Dubai and this time too it is expected to be organized outside India.

However, the Indian Board has not yet given any official information in this regard. Before the auction, the franchises will have to submit the list of retained players to the BCCI.
