Before the mega auction of IPL 2025, BCCI banned Ben Stokes, now he will not be able to play IPL for so many years.

Now all the teams have started finalizing their preparations for IPL 2025. After the release of the retained list of IPL 2025, now BCCI has also finalized the date of Mega Auction for IPL 2025. The mega auction for IPL 2025 will be held in Dubai on 24 and 25 November. This time a total of 1574 players have registered for the mega auction of IPL 2025.

Ben Stokes' name is not included in these 1574 players registered for the IPL 2025 auction and now because of Ben Stokes doing this, BCCI can ban him from playing IPL for the next 2 seasons.

BCCI had made some rules before IPL 2025, in which 1 name was regarding foreign players. According to this rule of BCCI, if any foreign player does not register his name for the mega auction of IPL 2025, then he cannot give his name in the IPL auction for 2 years.

One exception to this rule was that if a foreign player is injured, then this rule will not apply to him, but if someone is fit and does not give his name in the mega auction, then he will be banned for 2 years. Now according to the new rules of BCCI, it is difficult for Ben Stokes to play IPL for the next 2 years.

According to the new BCCI rule, “Every foreign player will have to register his name for the IPL mega auction. If any foreign player does not do so, he will be ineligible for next year's auction.”

BCCI made this rule only for players like Ben Stokes

In the last few seasons of IPL, it was seen that instead of giving their names in the IPL Mega Auction, foreign players used to register themselves in the Mini Auction, due to which they got a huge amount, whereas in the Mega Auction, the chances of getting a big bid are less. Players like Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins benefited greatly from this in IPL 2024.

If we talk about Ben Stokes, then Ben Stokes has also taken advantage of this rule many times before. Ben Stokes did not give his name in the mega auction of IPL 2022, after this, in the mini auction of IPL 2023, Chennai Super Kings made him a part of their team by paying a huge amount of Rs 16,25 crore.
