In the sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) performed brilliantly and defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets. This match was played on Wednesday at Assam Barsapara Cricket Stadium, where KKR registered its first win of the season.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals scored 151/9 runs in 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel (33), Yashasvi Jaiswal (29) and captain Riyan Parag (25) played useful innings but KKR bowlers defeated them to score challenging scores. Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana, Moeen Ali and Varun Chakraborty bowled brilliantly and took two wickets each. Kolkata Knight Riders scored 153 runs after losing only two wickets in 17.3 overs and won the match.
The hero of this victory was South African batsman Quinton de Kock. Who played brilliant innings of 97 runs. He hit eight fours and six sixes in 61 balls. Apart from him, Angkrish Raghuvanshi had scored 22 runs. Captain Ajinkya Rahane added 18 runs and Moeen Ali added five runs. This was the second consecutive defeat of Rajasthan Royals. The team had to face defeat by 44 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in its first match. With this win, KKR opened their account in IPL 2025, while Rajasthan Royals are still searching for their first win.
