New Delhi: Punjab Kings (PBKS) Retain Arshdeep Singh for Rs 18 Crore Using Right-to-Match at IPL 2025 Auction in Jeddah.

Sunrisers Hyderabad outbid Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans in an intense bidding war for the pacer, reaching an impressive Rs 15.75 crore. However, Punjab Kings exercised their Right-to-Match (RTM) card at the last moment, securing Arshdeep Singh’s services for the upcoming IPL seasons.

Arshdeep Singh has established himself as a key strike bowler for India in the shorter formats, earning a reputation as a white-ball specialist. In 59 matches for the national team, he has impressively claimed 95 wickets, showcasing his consistency and skill on the international stage.

Arshdeep Singh’s prowess was on full display during the T20 World Cup earlier this year, where he dismantled opposition batting line-ups with remarkable precision. He claimed 17 wickets in just 8 matches at an outstanding average of 12.47, making a bold statement to the cricketing world that he had arrived as a force to be reckoned with and was here to stay.

Arshdeep Singh’s IPL journey has been equally impressive, with 76 wickets in 65 matches since his debut in 2019. However, he took his performance to new heights in IPL 2024, forming a formidable pace duo with Harshal Patel. Together, they terrorized batting line-ups, with Arshdeep claiming 19 wickets in 14 matches for the Punjab Kings, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s premier pacers.

Despite his stellar performances and growing reputation on the international stage in the shorter formats, Punjab Kings initially opted not to retain Arshdeep Singh. This decision opened the door for a host of franchises eager to secure the pacer as a potential leader for their bowling attack.
