IPL 2025: The mega auction of the Indian Premier League 2025 will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. After this, preparations for IPL 2025 will also start. While defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders will be defending their title, meanwhile, rumors are rife regarding their home ground that KKR may play their home matches outside Eden Garden in IPL 2025.
According to a PTI report, the under-construction stadium in Narsinghgarh, located on the outskirts of Agartala, Tripura, is being considered as a possible second home ground for KKR.
According to Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) secretary Subrata Dey, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal indicated that this could happen if the stadium is completed by February 2025. Dhumal said that if the project is completed on time, then KKR or any other team can use this stadium as their home ground.
Construction work going on in Eden Gardens
According to reports, Eden Gardens is set for renovation ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) wants to build two new dressing rooms in front of the Dr. BC Roy Club House and increase the capacity of the stadium. The construction is expected to be completed by December 2025.
KKR will play home matches in Eden Garden only
However, RevSportz reported that KKR will play its home matches of the IPL 2025 season at Eden Garden only. The report states that the Cricket Association of Bengal has not decided the date of renewal, but it is expected to start after the IPL 2025 season.
