Delhi: The mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) is being held today in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The fate of many legendary players will be decided in this.

Bidding will be held for 574 players

This year, 574 players have been shortlisted for the mega auction, which includes 366 Indian and 208 foreign players. However, teams will be able to buy only 104 players, while the remaining players will remain unsold.

Players from 13 countries also include 1 player from Scotland and 3 players from Zimbabwe. The base price of 81 players is Rs 2 crore, that of 27 players is Rs 1.50 crore and that of 18 players is Rs 1.25 crore. All the teams have already released the list of their retained players.

Indian and foreign star players included in the auction

Many Indian superstar players are included in this mega auction, like KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.

At the same time, among the foreign players, bids will be made on veteran players like Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, Jos Buttler, David Warner, Tim David, Marco Yansen, Gerald Coetzee and Mitchell Starc.

Arshdeep Singh – India's left arm fast bowler has been bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore. This was the first bid of the day. His base price was Rs 2 crore.

Kagiso Rabada – South Africa's right-arm veteran fast bowler Kagiso Rabada was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 10.75 crore. His base price was 2 crores.

Shreyas Iyer – Indian team's veteran batsman Shreyas Iyer was included in their team by PBKS by paying Rs 26.75 crore. His base price was also Rs 2 crore. He was released by Kolkata Knight Riders, even though he had led KKR to its third title. Iyer has become the most expensive selling player in IPL history.

Jos Buttler – England's legendary wicketkeeper batsman was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 15.75 crore. His base price was Rs 2 crore.

Mitchell Starc – Australia's left-arm veteran fast bowler Mitchell Starc was made a part of their team by Delhi Capitals for Rs 11.75 crore. His base price was two crores.

Rishabh Pant – The fans of Chennai Super Kings raised a lot of slogans against the young wicketkeeper batsman of the Indian team, Rishabh Pant. LSG included the left-handed wicketkeeper batsman in their team for Rs 27 crore. His base price was Rs 2 crore. He has destroyed Iyer's record in just a few minutes.
