The start dates of the next three seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have been announced. According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the 2025 season of T20 Mahakumbh will start from March 14. The final of IPL 2025 will be played on 25 May. There will be 74 matches in IPL 2025. Whereas, IPL 2026 will be played between March 15 and May 31 and IPL 2027 will be played between March 14 and May 30.
According to the report, an email was sent by IPL to the franchises on Thursday. The dates announced for all three seasons are called windows, but these could also be official dates.
The report further states that many foreign players have got the green signal from their country's board to participate in the upcoming three seasons of IPL. Players from Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies will be fully available for all three seasons. Cricket Australia (CA) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have given permission to all their players to participate in IPL 2025.

The player auction for the IPL 2025 season is scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25, 2024 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
A total of 574 players will bid to play in this grand T20 tournament. The list of players to be auctioned includes 48 capped Indian players and 193 capped foreign players. The highest reserve price in the auction is Rs 2 crore and 81 players have opted for the starting bracket.
The fate of superstar players like Rishabh Pant, Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, Mitchell Starc, David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Trent Boult, Wanindu Hasaranga will be decided during the auction event.
