Before the retention of IPL 2025, Bengaluru player's bat roared, scored the fifth fastest century in the history of Ranji Trophy.
Madhya Pradesh batsman Rajat Patidar scored a century in 68 balls on the fourth day of his team's Ranji Trophy round three match against Haryana in Indore. This is the 5th fastest century in the history of Ranji Trophy. Along with this, he also indicated to his IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore not to forget to retain him.
Rajat, who came to bat at number three in the second innings, adopted an aggressive approach from the beginning and scored the 5th fastest century in the history of Ranji Trophy. The fastest century in Ranji Trophy was scored by Rishabh Pant. He scored a century in 18 balls for Delhi against Jharkhand in the 2016-17 season.

Rajat Patidar was out against Haryana after scoring 159 runs in 102 balls with the help of 13 fours and 7 sixes. This was Patidar's 13th first class century. With the help of his century, Madhya Pradesh declared its second innings after scoring 308 runs losing 4 wickets in 48.1 overs. By the end of the fourth day's play, Haryana had scored 115 runs after losing 3 wickets in 38 overs. In the end this match became a draw. Rajat was out for the first time after scoring 15 runs in 24 balls with the help of one four.
In the first innings of this match, Madhya Pradesh batted first and collapsed on the score of 308 in 115 overs in the first innings. On the other hand, Haryana was all out on the score of 440 in 155.5 overs.
