Joffra Archer took a U-turn just before the IPL 2025 auction, now decided to join

IPL 2025 Mega Auction: After initially keeping himself out of the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction, England fast bowler Jofra Archer has taken a U-turn and made himself available for the auction to be held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25. . According to The Cricketer, Archer is now expected to be included in the IPL auction after talks between his advisors, the ECB and the IPL.

Archer and his fellow fast bowler Mark Wood were reportedly not initially granted no-objection certificate to participate in IPL 2025 as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) gave priority to the Ashes series. Dissatisfied with this move, Archer was later given NOC, after which he decided to participate in the IPL auction.

Mumbai Indians bought Jofra Archer in the 2022 mega auction for Rs 8 crore. But due to injury he was not available for the entire season. After this, he made a comeback in the 2023 season and after playing just four matches, he returned back to England due to an elbow injury.

Archer joins the 574 cricketers who were shortlisted by the BCCI last Friday. Out of which 366 are Indian and 208 foreign players, including players from three associate countries. There are 318 uncapped Indian and 12 uncapped foreign players in this auction. Archer will be one of more than 35 England cricketers available in the auction pool.

A total of 204 slots are to be filled in this auction, out of which 70 are for foreign players. The highest base price is Rs 2 crore for 81 players.
