Chennai Super Kings (CSK) enter the IPL 2026 mini auction in a rare transition phase, having released several key names ahead of the new season. With a strengthened purse and multiple slots to fill, the franchise is expected to undergo a significant rebuild as they prepare for life beyond their former core.

CSK will head into the auction with Rs 43.40 crore remaininggiving them one of the strongest budgets among all ten teams. The franchise has nine slots availableincluding four overseas positionsoffering them ample room for fresh signings and strategic additions. The retained core confirms CSK’s investment in emerging domestic talent combined with a few experienced names. The presence of Dhoni, Gaikwad, Samson, and Dube provides stability, while young names like Brewis and Noor Ahmad form the next phase of CSK’s evolution.
