The Australian all-rounder achieved the title of the most expensive overseas player in the history of the tournament after being bought by KKR for ₹25.20 crore, surpassing Mitchell Starc’s previous benchmark.

Entering the auction with the biggest budget of ₹64.30 crore, the three-time champions showed consistency, also signing Sri Lankan fast bowler Matesha Pathirana for ₹18 crore. Despite starting with the minimum number of retained players, KKR’s aggressive strategy made them the first franchise to finalize their full 25-man squad for the upcoming season.

Apart from international stars, untapped Indian talent grabbed the headlines at the Etihad Arena. Chennai Super Kings Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma Set a new precedent by signing him for ₹14.2 crore, making him the most expensive uncapped player in history, surpassing the previous record held by Avesh Khan.

All the teams together invested a total of ₹237.55 crore to fill the 77 available slots from a pool of 369 cricketers. While big spenders featured prominently, Mumbai Indians made a smart move in a limited budget by acquiring experienced Quinton de Kock for just ₹1 crore.

With the auction over and the lineup decided, the stage is set for another exciting edition of the competition.
