According to the rules, Mumbai currently has 5 slots vacant in the limit of 25 players, out of which only one foreign player is left. The team has only Rs 2.75 crore in the auction, but due to the strong core squad, this amount is also not a big problem.

For this reason, instead of spending on big names, Mumbai Indians have planned to bet on young players who can serve as backup and can perform brilliantly when given a chance.
