All the teams are doing mathematics before IPL 2026 auction, Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani has no tension; What is the reason?

IPL 2026 Auction Mumbai Indians: All the teams are busy making their strategy for the Indian Premier League 2026 auction. All the franchises are doing a lot of calculations to decide which players will be right for their team and which will not. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians owner Nita Ambani does not seem to be worried about these calculations at all.

It is worth noting that on November 16, all the franchises had released the list of their retained players. A total of 173 players were retained, which included 49 foreign players. This left 77 slots vacant for the IPL 2026 auction, out of which 31 slots are for foreign players.

When will IPL 2026 auction take place?

IPL 2026 auction will start on December 16 at 2:30 pm IST. This time this auction will be held at Etihad Center in Abu Dhabi. A total of 1390 players had registered for the auction, out of which 350 have been shortlisted. These include 240 Indian and 110 foreign players. Among the shortlisted players, 112 are capped while 238 are uncapped.

Why are Mumbai Indians not worried?

Mumbai Indians do not seem to be worried at all about the IPL 2026 auction at this time. The main reason for this is that before IPL 2026, the team already has 20 players. According to the rules, Mumbai currently has 5 slots vacant in the limit of 25 players, out of which only one foreign player is left. The team has only Rs 2.75 crore in the auction, but due to the strong core squad, this amount is also not a big problem.

For this reason, instead of spending on big names, Mumbai Indians have planned to bet on young players who can serve as backup and can perform brilliantly when given a chance.
