Why was there an uproar over Dosa-Idli song in IPL 2026?
IPL 2026, RCB vs CSK: During IPL 2026 Chennai Super Kings (CSK) The match between India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is now mired in controversies even off the field. After this high-voltage match played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 5, CSK has lodged a formal complaint with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
CSK has alleged that some of the incidents that took place in the stadium during the match were not only against the spirit of the game but were also hurtful to the sentiments of their team and supporters.
Why did the controversy erupt?
According to reports, a song was played in the stadium during the match which included words like “Dosa, Idli, Sambar, Chutney”. CSK believes that the identity of Tamil Nadu was mocked through this song. The song was originally composed by composer Gaana Appu and has been in the news during CSK-RCB matches before. However, this time the controversy regarding this has deepened.
What did CSK management say?
CSK Managing Director Kasi Vishwanathan gave a strong reaction to this entire matter. He said, “DJs are usually present to support the home team but the case at Chinnaswamy Stadium was different. Some comments were made against our players. Keeping this in mind, we have written a letter to the BCCI to investigate the matter.”
Why unhappy with DJ’s behaviour?
Apart from the song, CSK has also raised serious objection to the behavior of the stadium DJ. The team alleges that the comments made by the DJ after the players were out were out of line. CSK management says that the job of DJ is to entertain the audience and not to make fun of the opposing team or target them.
Apart from this, CSK has also mentioned in its complaint that their supporters were allegedly misbehaved in the stadium. Although, detailed information in this regard has not been revealed, but the team has called it a serious issue. Let us tell you, the matches between CSK and RCB have always been high-voltage.
