Ayush Mhatre was thrown out even after hitting fifty, why did CSK take this decision?
CSK vs DC IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings’ young batsman Ayush Mhatre made an unwanted record in the match against Delhi Capitals. He has become a retired out player after scoring CSK’s second half-century in IPL. 20 year old Ayush played a brilliant inning of 59 runs in 36 balls, but due to the team’s planning, he was called back in 18 overs. At that time CSK’s record was 2 wickets at 175. The team wanted fast runs in the last two overs. Due to which Ayush was called back.

Let us tell you that Mhatre along with Sanju Samson played a brilliant inning of 113 runs. This was the second highest innings for any wicket against Delhi Capitals. Earlier in the year 2023, Devon Conway and Gaikwad had played an inning of 141 runs. Mhatre batted in the middle overs and scored for the team. CSK had scored 61 runs in the powerplay. But Gaikwad was out after scoring 15 runs. After this Mhatre did not let his pace slow down.

decided to retire out
When runs started getting scored slowly in the last over, CSK took a big decision. Mhatre was retired and Shivam Dubey was sent to take command. So that runs can be scored quickly on the new ball. As soon as Dubey came, he batted brilliantly and took the team beyond 200. In the end CSK scored 212/2 in 20 overs.
Second retired out player of CSK
Mhatre has now joined the list of those players. Names like Ravichandran Ashwin, Atharva Tayde, Tilak Verma and Devon Conway are included in this list.
