IPL 2026 Final: Bengaluru won the toss, decided to bowl first

New Delhi: The final match of IPL 2026 will be played on Sunday night, 31 May 2026. RCB captain Rajat Patidar got lucky in the toss held before the match. They won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Won 8 out of 18 matches

Let us tell you that in the 18 final matches played so far in IPL history, the team bowling first has won a total of 8 times. Whereas the team batting first has won 10 times. With this record, this final match becomes even more exciting.

RCB won the only final match on this pitch

Let us inform you that this match will be played on pitch number 6 in Ahmedabad. It is one of the two center pitches. This is a mixed clay pitch, on which a lot of runs were scored in the final of the T20 World Cup. However, Aaron Finch believes that this pitch could be a little slow. He says that if fast bowlers bowl by pulling the length of the ball back a little, then the match can be very interesting. This is the same wicket where RCB won the title last year.

What did Patidar say during the toss?

RCB captain Rajat Patidar said at the time of toss, "It is a good wicket, there will be no change in it in 40 overs. We will try to get them out quickly. There are a lot of memories from last year, but now it is 2026. To win we have to do our best. It is important to live in the present. I love playing here because of the crowd. The team is the same."

Gill showed confidence

Whereas Gujarat captain Shubman Gill said with confidence, "We would have batted first. Hopefully we will put pressure on the opposition team by scoring runs. This is a normal wicket, this is the third match on it. It is possible that the fast bowlers may get some movement in the first 2-3 overs. We are feeling fresh and fully prepared. It’s one of the biggest stadiums, it’s always an honor to play here. Arshad has returned to the team in place of Sai (Kishore)."
