New Delhi: Today i.e. on 31st May, the mega match of the world’s biggest cricket league IPL 2026 is to be played. In this title clash, defending champion Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Gujarat Titans (GT). The captaincy of Rajat Patidar and Shubman Gill will also be tested in this match to be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

If you are expecting any major change in the prize money this year, then let us tell you that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not made any new amendments in the prize pool for IPL 2026. This season also the total prize pool is going to be around Rs 46.5 crores only.
What will the team winning the match get?
The team that wins the title match will get a huge prize of Rs 20 crore along with a glittering trophy, while the runner-up team will get Rs 12.5 to 13 crore. Not only the teams playing the finals, but the other two teams making the journey till the playoffs will also get a huge amount. The third placed team will be given a cash prize of Rs 7 crore and the fourth placed team will be given a cash prize of Rs 6.5 crore.
Champion team prize money
If we look at the history, when IPL started in the year 2008, the prize money of the champion team was only Rs 4.8 crore and that of the runner-up was Rs 2.4 crore. In the year 2010, it was increased to Rs 10 crore for the winner. After this, in 2014, the prize money of the champion was increased to Rs 15 crore and last time in the year 2016, it was changed to Rs 20 crore, which has been continuing for the last 10 years.

Apart from the teams, there will also be rewards for the players who perform well. The ‘Orange Cap’ winner who scores the most runs in the season and the ‘Purple Cap’ winner who takes the most wickets will get Rs 10 lakh each.
