On the basis of brilliant half-centuries by Karthik Sharma (71) and Shivam Dubey (32 not out), Chennai Super made a challenging score of 187 runs for five wickets against Lucknow Super Giants in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Friday. Here today Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Akash Singh gave the initial blow to Chennai Super Kings who came to bat. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (13) became the first victim of Akash in the fourth over. After this, Sanju Samson (20) and Urvil Patel (6) were also dismissed by Akash. At that time the score of Chennai Super Kings was 51 runs. At such a time of crisis, Karthik Sharma handled the innings along with Dewald Brevis. 70 runs were added between the two batsmen for the fourth wicket.

Shivam Dubey played an unbeaten inning of 32 runs in 16 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes. Prashant Veer scored unbeaten 13 runs in 10 balls. Akash Singh took three wickets for Lucknow Super Giants. Mohammed Shami and Shahbaz Ahmed dismissed one batsman each.
