IPL 2026: Kolkata’s Rs 25 crore player Cameron Green ran out in a strange manner, know…
Kolkata. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), a blockbuster match was played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on 2 April (Thursday). In this match held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 65 runs. A very strange and surprising run out was seen in this match. This run out happened due to a misunderstanding between Cameron Green and Angakrush Raghuvanshi.
The entire incident happened in the sixth over of Kolkata Knight Riders’ innings. In that over, on the last ball of Ishan Malinga, Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a shot straight towards the bowler. The ball hit Ishan Malinga’s feet and fell nearby and the confusion started from here. Cameron Green did not estimate the speed of the ball correctly and ran to score runs. Raghuvanshi, on the other hand, could not see the ball and stopped for a few moments. By then Green had covered almost half the way. Therefore both of them had no option but to take runs.
By the time both of them understood something, it was too late. Ishan Malinga picked up the ball with speed and uprooted the stumps at the bowler’s end. Angkrish Raghuvanshi started going back towards the pavilion as it seemed that he had crossed Cameron Green, but the fourth umpire stopped him near the boundary line.

Green was given out for this reason
After this the matter went to the third umpire. Replays showed that both the batsmen were in the same line and Cameron Green had not crossed Angkrish Raghuvanshi. That means Cameron Green was closer to the bowler end. According to the rules of cricket, in such a situation the batsman who is closer to the wicket is declared run out.
This was the reason why Cameron Green was declared out, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi was recalled. Green scored only 2 runs. Green was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 25.20 crore in the mini auction held for IPL 2026. Green did not bowl in this match either and played only as a batsman.
