IPL 2026: List of injured players lengthened, these teams including KKR left breathless

The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) starts from Saturday (28 March). Earlier, many teams have suffered setbacks due to injury and unavailability of players. The preparations of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been affected the most. KKR’s two key fast bowlers Harshit Rana and Akash Deep have been out of the entire season. Whereas Mathisha Pathirana availability is uncertain. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and defending champion Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are also troubled by injuries to players.

 

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are facing unavailability of players due to different reasons. Read here which players are out and who are unavailable for the initial matches.

KKR

sky lamp – This fast bowler is the new name among the players who were ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injury. Akash Deep is suffering from a lower back injury and could not recover in time. He is out of the entire season.

 

Harshit Rana – Indian all-rounder Harshit was ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to a knee injury. He had to undergo knee surgery. His recovery is going on. He is out of the entire season.

 

Mathisha Pathirana – Pathirana will not be able to play the first 5 matches of KKR due to a calf injury suffered during the T20 World Cup.

SRH

Pat Cummins – SRH captain Cummins is recovering from a back strain problem. He will be available only in the second half of the tournament.

 

Jack Edwards – Australian all-rounder Edwards has been ruled out of the entire season due to a leg injury.

RCB 

Josh Hazlewood – Australian fast bowler Hazlewood was out of the Ashes and T20 World Cup due to a hamstring injury. He is not fully fit yet. It is not certain that he will play in the initial matches.

CSK

Nathan Ellis – Australian pacer Ellis has been ruled out of the entire season due to an aggravated hamstring injury.

RR

Sam Curran – England all-rounder Curran has also been out of the entire season. He suffered a back injury during the T20 World Cup.

DC

Mitchell Starc – Given the upcoming Australia schedule, Starc will not be available for the entire season for Delhi Capitals.

PBKS 

Lockie Ferguson – This New Zealand fast bowler has recently become a father. Ferguson wants to spend some time at home, due to which he will not be able to play in the initial matches of Punjab Kings.
