IPL 2026 Orange Cap: The battle for batting supremacy in IPL 2026 has reached fever pitch after the completion of Match 54 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians in Raipur. The match was a historic moment for veteran legends but the Orange Cap leaderboard is still dominated by the explosive power hitters of Sunrisers Hyderabad with Heinrich Klaasen continuing his reign at the summit.
The SRH Dominance at the Top
Heinrich Klaasen is the man to beat this season. The SRH keeper-batter has been on a different level altogether, scoring 494 runs in 11 games with a scintillating strike rate of 157.32. His ability to break spin and pace alike gives Hyderabad a fearsome middle-order cushion.
His team-mate Abhishek Sharma is close behind at second spot with 475 runs. Abhishek’s ultra-aggressive approach at the top of the order has redefined powerplay scoring this year with a season strike rate of over 210. The SRH duo have made a strong case for being the most dangerous batting pair in the tournament.
Consistent Performers and Rising Stars
Delhi Capitals’ skipper KL Rahul is third with 468 runs, playing a more traditional, but highly effective, anchor role. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans duo Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan continue to hover in the top six with Gill scoring 462 runs despite playing one game less than most of his rivals.
Joining them in the top five is the young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The Rajasthan Royals prodigy has been the find of the season and scored 440 runs, proving age is just a number when it comes to elite-level temperament.
Kohli and the Top 10 Elite
Virat Kohli matched MS Dhoni’s appearance record in the win against MI but he is still 10th in the standings. In the Raipur thriller, Kohli got out on the first ball duck to take his season count to 379. He is striking the ball well at 163.36 but the sheer volume of runs from the top-order hitters has kept him on the edge of the leaderboard.
