Delhi Capitals ended their campaign with a win by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders. With this the final picture of the points table also became completely clear.

This season (IPL 2026) once again saw a great performance from Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB first secured its place in the playoffs and on the basis of consistently excellent play, finished on top in the league stage. Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad also made a strong comeback after initial stumbles and entered the playoffs. All three teams had 18-18 points but due to better net run rate, RCB stood first, Gujarat second and Hyderabad third.

IPL 2026: Rajasthan wins at the last chance

The most interesting match for the fourth place of the playoff was seen between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. Punjab had started the season on a great note and had not suffered defeat for 7 consecutive matches. At one time the team was at number-1 in the points table but after this, 6 consecutive defeats worsened their position. Despite winning the last match, Punjab could not make it to the playoffs. IPL 2026: Delhi improves position, KKR at seventh position

Delhi Capitals improved their position in the points table by winning their last league match (IPL 2026). The Delhi team, which went through ups and downs throughout the season, scored 14 points in 14 matches and finished in sixth place. At the same time, the performance of defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders was not as per expectations. The team finished seventh with 13 points and was out of the race for the playoffs.

IPL 2026: Worst performance of Mumbai and Chennai

This season proved to be very disappointing for Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, who are among the most successful teams in IPL history. Chennai did try to make a comeback in the middle of the season but the team remained in eighth place with only 12 points. The condition of five-time champion Mumbai Indians was even worse. Mumbai lost 10 out of 14 matches and the team finished ninth. The biggest blow was suffered by Lucknow Super Giants, where the team captained by the most expensive player Rishabh Pant struggled throughout the season and finished at the bottom 10th position in the points table.
