IPL 2026: Punjab Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 6 wickets, Shreyas Iyer played a half-century.

Thanks to the stormy batting of captain Shreyas Iyer (69 not out), Priyansh Arya (57) and Prabhasimran Singh (51), Punjab Kings registered their third win in the tournament by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets in the IPL match with seven balls to spare on Saturday. The opening pair of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh gave a stormy start for Punjab Kings and added 99 runs for the first wicket.
Shivang Kumar broke this partnership by dismissing Priyansh Arya in the seventh over. Priyansh Arya played an innings of 57 runs in 20 balls, hitting five fours and five sixes. In the ninth over, Shivang Kumar gave second success to Sunrisers Hyderabad by dismissing Prabhsimran Singh. Prabhsimran Singh scored 51 runs in 25 balls hitting four fours and four sixes.
Cooper Connelly became the third victim of Shivang Kumar after scoring 11 runs. In the 17th over, Harsh Dubey gave the fourth blow to the Punjab Kings who were moving towards victory by bowling Nehal Vadhera. Shreyas Iyer, playing captaincy innings, scored unbeaten 69 runs and led Punjab to victory. Punjab Kings scored 223 runs for four wickets in 18.5 overs and won the match by six wickets.
Shreyas Iyer played an unbeaten inning of 69 runs in 33 balls, hitting five fours and five sixes. Shashank Singh remained unbeaten after scoring 16 runs. Earlier today, on the basis of innings of Abhishek Sharma (78), Heinrich Klaasen (39) and Travis (38), Sunrisers Hyderabad gave a target of 220 runs to Punjab Kings to win. Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first.
Coming to bat, the opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave their team a good start by adding 120 runs for the first wicket for Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the ninth over, Shashank Singh gave double success to Punjab Kings by first dismissing Travis Head and then Abhishek Sharma on the third ball of the same over. Travis Head scored 38 runs in 23 balls, hitting five fours and a six.
Abhishek Sharma played a stormy innings of 74 runs in 28 balls, hitting five fours and eight sixes. Captain Ishan Kishan scored 27 runs in 17 balls. He was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in the 14th over. Aniket Sharma (18) and Salil Arora (nine) were out after scoring runs in nine balls. Klaasen scored 39 runs in 33 balls, hitting one four and one six.
Sunrisers Hyderabad scored a huge score of 219 runs for six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs but then could not defend it. Shashank Singh and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets each for Punjab Kings. Xavier Bartlett struck out one batter.
