IPL 2026: Due to Ayush Mhatre and Shivam Dubey, Chennai scored 209 runs, Punjab Kings eyeing second consecutive win.

IPL 2026, CSK vs PBKS, 7th Match: In the seventh match of IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are clashing with Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday. Batting first at the MA Chidambaram Cricket Stadium, CSK scored 209 runs on the scoreboard after losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Ayush Mhatre and Shivam Dubey played strong innings for Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai Super Kings, who came to bat first after losing the toss, did not have a good start. Sanju Samson once again could not show anything special with the bat and was out after scoring just 7 runs. However, after this, Ayush Mhatre along with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad took over the team’s innings and both added 96 runs for the second wicket. Rituraj was out after scoring 28 runs in 22 balls after hitting 2 fours. However, Ayush continued his brilliant batting from one end and played a strong inning of 73 runs in 43 balls. He hit 6 fours and 5 sixes in his innings.

Sarfaraz Khan looking in great form in IPL 2026

Young batsman Karthik Sharma once again disappointed and could score only one run. However, Sarfaraz Khan appeared to be in great form and scored 32 runs at a strike rate of 266 facing just 12 balls. Sarfaraz hit 6 fours and a six during his short, but explosive innings.

Dubey’s finishing touch

In the last overs, Shivam Dubey batted brilliantly and scored unbeaten 45 runs in just 28 balls at a strike rate of 160. Shivam hit 5 fours and one six during his innings. Whereas, Prashant Veer remained unbeaten after scoring 6 runs in his debut match. In bowling, Vijaykumar Vaishak took the maximum of 2 wickets for 38 runs from Punjab Kings. Whereas, Yuzvendra Chahal and Marco Jansen took one wicket each.

Punjab Kings, under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, is playing in this match with Prabhsimran Singh, Cooper Connolly, Shashank Singh, Nehal Vadhera, Marcus Stoinis, Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett, Vijay Kumar Vaishak, Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal.
