Ishan Kishan is close to breaking Gautam Gambhir’s record, will do wonders as soon as he scores 2 runs against RCB

Kishan, who made his IPL debut in 2016, has so far scored 2998 runs in 112 innings of 119 matches at an average of 29.10 and strike rate of 137.64. As soon as he scores 2 runs, he will complete 3000 runs in IPL. So far, 28 players have reached this figure in the history of the tournament.

Apart from this, if Kishan scores 84 runs, he will surpass Gautam Gambhir and reach 14th position in the list of highest run-scorers for India in T-20 cricket. Kishan has so far scored 6319 runs in 220 innings of 229 matches. Whereas Gambhir has 6402 runs in his name in this format in 245 innings of 251 matches.

Let us tell you that Sunrisers Hyderabad’s regular captain Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the first half of IPL 2026 due to a back injury. In his place, Kishan will be seen captaining the Hyderabad team in the initial matches.

Kishan’s performance has been excellent in recent times. Under his captaincy, Jharkhand team won the title of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He played an important role in India winning the title in the T20 World Cup 2026 and was India’s second most successful batsman in the tournament.
