Josh Hazlewood Injury Update: IPL 2026 is going to start from March 28, and before the start of the tournament, a big good news has come for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Their champion bowler Josh Hazlewood, who played a key role in the team’s victory last season, has joined the team for IPL 2026. However, Hazlewood is recovering from injury, and will not be able to take part in the opening match of the tournament. RCB gave this information to the fans through its social media.

RCB informed about Josh Hazlewood’s return to the team on its Twitter account around 10:30 pm on March 26. He wrote, “This is not a drill, this is not a joke (well, the beginning of the reel was a joke). This is really happening. The one the entire RCB Nation wanted to see is here. HazleGOD is in our city and our happiness knows no bounds!!!” However, Hazlewood will not be available for the team at the start of the tournament as he is still recovering from hamstring and Achilles injuries.

Hazlewood’s important role
Josh Hazlewood played an important role for RCB last season by taking 22 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 17.54. His brilliant bowling helped RCB win the IPL 2025 title. Hazlewood also did not participate in the home Ashes series against England and he also did not play in the ICC T20 World Cup against India and Sri Lanka.
