Delhi: Veteran opener Rohit Sharma, who returned to the field after a long wait of 22 days, showed his attitude as soon as he came. The former captain of Mumbai Indians (MI) was away for five matches due to injury, but in the return match, he played such a explosive innings against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), which changed the course of the match. Rohit played an important role in helping the team win by playing a brilliant inning of 84 runs in 44 balls.

During this innings, Rohit Sharma completed his half-century in just 27 balls. This was the fourth fastest fifty of his IPL career. The special thing was that this also became his fastest half-century against Lucknow Super Giants. Earlier, his fastest fifty came in 23 balls, which he scored against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

New personal record made against Lucknow

In this match, Rohit Sharma also recorded his highest ever individual score against Lucknow Super Giants. Earlier, his highest score against this team was 68 runs, which he made in the 2024 season. Now he left this record behind by playing an inning of 84 runs.

Strong partnership with Richlton

Rohit Sharma along with Ryan Rickleton made an important partnership of 143 runs for the first wicket. This is the fourth highest partnership for any wicket in IPL history for Mumbai Indians. Earlier, there was a partnership of 167 runs between Rohit Sharma and Herschelle Gibbs, 163 runs between Sachin Tendulkar and Dwayne Smith, while there was a partnership of 143 runs between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma.
