IPL 2026: RR flies in the storm of Ishan-Abhishek, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s century goes in vain
The 36th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 was played on Saturday (April 25) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Jaipur. Sunrisers Hyderabad won this match by 5 wickets. When invited to bat first, RR scored 228 runs at the loss of 6 wickets, which SRH easily chased in 18.3 overs. For SRH, Ishan Kishan played a blazing inning of 74 runs in 31 balls, which included 11 fours and 3 sixes. Abhishek Sharma scored 57 runs in 29 balls with the help of 11 fours and 1 six. After both of them were out, Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 36 runs in 18 balls.
Earlier, young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored the second century of his IPL career in 36 balls. Vaibhav played a explosive inning of 103 runs in 37 balls, hitting 5 fours and 12 sixes, but the bowlers and poor fielding ruined his hard work.

SRH did not have a good start
SRH, while chasing the huge target, did not have a good start. Joffra Archer had Travis Head caught behind the wicket on the very first ball but Dhruv Jurel dropped the catch. Joffra got Head (6) caught by Jurel in the same over. After this, Ishan and Abhishek made an explosive partnership of 132 runs and pushed RR on the backfoot. RR also missed many easy chances, due to which it could not make a comeback. When the match got out of hand, there was improvement in fielding but by then it was too late. SRH achieved the target with 9 balls to spare and registered their fourth consecutive win. Now it has reached third place in the points table, while RR has lost one place.
Apart from Joffra, no bowler from RR was in form. Joffra took 2 wickets for 34 runs in 4 overs. Apart from him, the economy of no bowler was below 10.

Slow batting in death overs also cost RR
RR’s innings derailed after the dismissal of Vaibhav and Jurel (51). RR, playing its first match of this season at its home ground Sawai Man Singh Stadium, could score only 44 runs in the last 5 overs, due to which it could not reach close to 250 and it had to suffer the consequences. Captain Ryan Parag could score only 7 runs in 9 balls, while Shimron Hetmyer scored 11 runs in 10 balls. Donovan Ferreira definitely scored 33 runs in 16 balls but it was not enough.
