Sanju Samson’s father reveals the real reason for leaving Rajasthan Royals

Speaking to the media, Sanju Samson’s father Samson Vishwanath said, “Rajasthan Royals gave everything to my son (Sanju). There he was treated like a king, the only difference was that a crown was not placed on his head, but with the passage of time, my son realized that both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag wanted to captain Rajasthan Royals.”

Sanju Samson’s father further said, “My son came to me and told me that it is time for us to leave from here. He said that both are talented players and Riyan has captained Assam, while Jaiswal wants to captain Mumbai. So he felt it was better to part ways with the franchise before it was too late. When we took this decision, there were offers from many franchises like Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders etc. And the name of Chennai Super Kings was not there in the beginning, but now everything is fine and my son is playing for CSK.”

Sanju Samson will be seen playing for CSK with Dhoni in IPL 2026.

Sanju Samson has been traded by Chennai Super Kings to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 18 crore. Whereas Rajasthan Royals took star all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran from Chennai Super Kings in place of Sanju Samson. Rajasthan Royals will pay Rs 16 crore to Jadeja. Sanju Samson will now be seen playing with MS Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026.
