Storm of SRH debutants: Hinge-Saqib created history by taking 4-4 wickets, this feat has happened for the first time in IPL history.

IPL 2026: The fifth match of IPL 2026 for Sunrisers Hyderabad went down in history, where the two debutant fast bowlers of the team gave a performance which no one had even imagined. Prafulla Hinge and Saqib Hussain changed the course of the match with their lethal bowling against Rajasthan Royals. At the very beginning of the match, Hinge created a sensation by dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi on the first ball. After this, he pushed Rajasthan’s batting on the backfoot by taking wickets continuously. On the other hand, Saqib Hussain also did not give the batsmen a chance to survive with his tight line-length and accurate bowling.

Both the bowlers made a special record by taking 4-4 wickets. This is only the fourth time in the history of IPL that two bowlers of a team have taken 4-4 wickets in the same innings. The debutants have done this feat for the first time. Hinge took 4 wickets for 34 runs, while Saqib sent the same number of batsmen to the pavilion for 24 runs. The most special thing about this match was that both the players were playing their debut match. Hinge was part of the playing eleven, while Saqib was included as an impact player in place of Travis Head. This kind of performance in the debut match has become a unique record in itself.

Earlier, such a feat had been seen only three times in IPL. In the year 2012, Munaf Patel and Kieron Pollard took 4-4 wickets for Mumbai Indians. After this, in 2015, Mitchell Starc and Srinath Aravind achieved this feat for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Then in 2023, Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma repeated history by taking 4 wickets each in the same match for Gujarat Titans. Now Prafulla Hinge and Saqib Hussain have made their place in this elite club. However, the most important thing is that this is the first time in the history of IPL that two bowlers created a new history by taking 4-4 wickets in the same innings in their debut match.
