Rajasthan Royals star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was seen goofing around with a camera during a practice session ahead of IPL 2026. Having had some fun with the camera for a few minutes, the left-handed batter hilariously said, ‘Mere se nahin hoga yeh sab, cricket hee thik hai’. It translates to ‘I can’t do all this, cricket is okay for me’.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi set to play for the Rajasthan Royals from the first game of IPL 2026
Signed by the Royals for a sum of ₹2.2 crore ahead of IPL 2025, Sooryavanshi created history for becoming the youngest player to fetch an IPL contract, doing so at the age of only 14. Nevertheless, the southpaw spent half the season on the bench and made his debut against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. He stunned one and all by hammering the first ball he faced in IPL for a maximum and made 34 off 20 deliveries. The teenage prodigy also struck a hundred against the Gujarat Titans as his 35-ball ton proved to be the second-fastest in IPL history. Sooryavanshi finished the season with 252 runs in seven matches at 36. The strike rate of 206.55 earned the youngster the Super Striker award of the season.
