IPL 2026: Tim David became suspicious of the ball, umpire warned for repeatedly checking; VIDEO VIRAL

In the 20th match of IPL 2026, Tim David created a different drama on the field. He was seen repeatedly checking the ball and even refused to give it back to the umpire immediately. This style of David has become increasingly viral on social media also.

On Sunday (April 12), a unique and a bit funny incident was seen in the match being played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium. RCB’s explosive batsman Tim David suddenly looked dissatisfied with the ball and started checking it in the middle of the match.

This whole matter came to light in the 18th over of the first innings. Tim David hit a strong six off Hardik Pandya’s ball, after which Mumbai Indians demanded to change the ball as it had become wet. As per the rules, the umpires selected the new ball, but this is where the story got a twist.

Tim David took the new ball in his hand and started looking and tossing it again and again. It seemed that he doubted the shape of the ball and even refused to give it back immediately when the umpire asked for the ball. Umpires Virendra Sharma and Swaroopanand Kannur present on the field looked a little angry with this action and warned David. This video of his went viral rapidly on social media.

If we talk about the match, RCB batted first and scored a big score of 240 runs in 20 overs. Phil Salt scored 78 runs in 36 balls, Virat Kohli added 50 runs in 38 balls and captain Rajat Patidar played a quickfire inning of 53 runs in 20 balls. Tim David also returned unbeaten after scoring 34 runs in 16 balls.
