IPL 2026 [WATCH]: Prince Yadav cleans up Virat Kohli with a beauty in LSG vs RCB match
The Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow witnessed a memorable IPL 2026 clash as Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) edged past Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by 9 runs via the DLS method in a rain-affected contest.
Reduced to 19 overs per side, the match saw explosive batting from both teams, but LSG held their nerve in the crucial moments to successfully defend a revised target of 213. The victory helped the hosts stay alive in the playoff race after a difficult run of results.
Mitchell Marsh’s century powers LSG to crucial win
The foundation of LSG’s victory was laid by Mitchell Marshwho delivered a breathtaking knock of 111 runs off just 56 deliveries. The Australian all-rounder dominated the RCB bowling attack with a stunning mix of power and timing, smashing boundaries all around the ground. He received good support from Nicholas Pooran and Rishabh Pant as LSG posted an imposing total of 209/3 in 19 overs despite rain interruptions. Marsh’s sensational century shifted the momentum firmly in Lucknow’s favour and put RCB under immediate scoreboard pressure during the chase.
Prince Yadav’s magical delivery uproots Virat Kohli
The biggest moment of the match arrived early in RCB’s innings when young pacer Prince Yadav produced an absolute beauty to dismiss Virat Kohli. After beginning the over with an outswinger that Kohli defended comfortably, Prince came back with a sharp inswinger clocked at 140.4 kmph. The delivery pitched on a good length before jagging back viciously through the gate, crashing into the off-stump and leaving Kohli completely stunned.
The Ekana crowd erupted as Kohli departed for a rare two-ball duck, his first duck in an IPL chase in more than 1,100 days. Interestingly, Prince later revealed that he had used advice given by Kohli himself after an earlier encounter.
Prince shines with a splendid spell for LSG
Apart from the prized wicket of Kohli, Prince delivered a superb spell with the ball and finished with impressive figures of 3/33 in his four overs. He consistently troubled the RCB batters with pace, movement, and clever variations, striking at crucial moments to halt the momentum of the chase. His spell proved decisive as LSG managed to restrict RCB to 203/6 despite a strong fightback from the middle order. The performance further enhanced Prince’s growing reputation as one of the most exciting young fast bowlers in IPL 2026.
