IPL 2026: Yashasvi Jaiswal joins the club of legends like Virat Kohli, did this on the very first ball
Sports Desk. Even though Rajasthan Royals had to face defeat by seven wickets against Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the 43rd league match of the 19th season of the Indian Premier League, the team’s opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has registered a big achievement in his name in the match.
In the match, Rajasthan Royals, playing first, managed to score 225 runs in 20 overs. Rajasthan Royals’ opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal could score only six runs in this match. On the basis of this short innings, he has joined the club of greats like Virat Kohli. Jaiswal accomplished such a feat that he became only the 5th player in IPL history to do so. He has now become the 5th player to hit a six on the first ball of an IPL match. In the match against Delhi Capitals in Jaipur, Yashasvi Jaiswal hit a six on the first ball of Mitchell Starc. However, Jaiswal was out on the third ball of the match.
Naman Ojha was the first to do this
The big achievement of hitting a six on the first ball of a match in IPL was first achieved by Naman Ojha from Rajasthan Royals. He achieved this feat against Kolkata Knight Riders (2009, Durban). Whereas Virat Kohli (RCB) had achieved this feat against Rajasthan Royals (year 2019, Kolkata), Phil Salt (KKR) had achieved this feat against Mumbai Indians (year 2024) and Priyansh Arya (Punjab Kings) had achieved this feat against Chennai Super Kings (year 2025).
