Pant was released by Delhi Capitals team before the auction. In such a situation, it was considered certain that a big bid would be placed on them. He scored a lot of runs last year while returning after a car accident. Lucknow team can make him captain.

Pant has thus become the player sold at the highest price in IPL history. In this matter, he has left behind Shreyas Iyer who was sold for Rs 26.75 crore just a short time ago. There was a war in the beginning between Lucknow and RCB for Rishabh Pant. Pant had entered the auction with a base price of Rs 2 crore and within a short time his price had crossed Rs 10 crore. During this time, Hyderabad also joined the race, but Lucknow also did not give up.
