A total of 84 players were auctioned on the first day, out of which 72 players were bought, while 12 remained unsold. 72 players were bid on the first day of IPL mega auction. For this auction, all the franchises placed bets on their favorite players. During this period, franchisees spent Rs 467.95 crore. Many big bids were seen on the first day of IPL auction. Lucknow included Rishabh Pant in their team by paying Rs 27 crores. While Shreyas Iyer was included by Punjab for Rs 26.75 crore. Venkatesh Iyer was at third place. Kolkata included him by paying 23.75 crores. Punjab Kings included Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal for Rs 18 crore.
