IPL: CSK defeated Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets in the first match Gujarati

Bangalore: The third match of IPL 2025 was played between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets. Rachin Ravindra gave CSK its first win in the tournament by hitting a sixer on the first ball of the 20th over.

Rachine played a brilliant inning of 65 runs in 45 balls. Rachni hit 2 fours and 4 sixes. His strike rate during the innings was 144.44. Apart from opener Rachin, captain Ruturaj Gaikwade played captaincy innings for Chennai. He played a stormy inning of 53 runs in just 26 balls. He hit 6 fours and 3 sixes during the innings.

However, Chennai did not have a good start while chasing the target of 156 runs. CSK got the first blow in the form of Rahul Tripathi on the score of 11 runs. However, after this, captain Rituraj Gaikwade along with Rachin Ravindra took command of the innings. There was a partnership of more than 50 runs between the two. Gaikwad scored 53 runs and was out on the last ball of the 8th over at the score of 9 runs. On the other hand, despite continuous wickets falling, Rachin Ravindra stood firm.

Due to the lethal innings of spinner Noor Ahmed (4/18) and fast bowler Khalil Ahmed (3/29), Chennai Super Kings allowed Mumbai Indians to score only 155 runs for 9 wickets. Chennai won the toss and decided to bowl first. Khalil proved the decision correct by dismissing dangerous opener Rohit Sharma for zero runs.

In the final overs, Deepak Chahar played an unbeaten inning of 28 runs in just 15 balls, taking Mumbai to the score of 155 runs. Suryakumar scored 29 runs in 26 balls with the help of two fours and one six, while Tilak scored 31 runs in 25 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes. In the following order, Naman Dheere scored 17 runs in 12 balls and Deepak Chahar scored 28 not out in 15 balls to take Mumbai to a fighting score. Deepak hit two fours and two sixes.
