IPL: Rajasthan Royals got their first win by defeating Chennai by 6 runs Gujarati

Mumbai: Rajasthan Royals have registered a spectacular win against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK captain had decided to bowl first after winning the toss. When Rajasthan came out to bat, they scored 182 runs with the help of Nitish Rana’s brilliant inning of 81 runs. Chasing this score, CSK could score only 176 runs. Thus, in an interesting match, CSK had to face defeat by 6 runs.

Rituraj Gaikwade played captaincy innings for CSK while chasing the target of 183 runs given by Rajasthan. However, he could not bring victory. Gaikwade scored 63 runs in 44 balls. Rahul Tripathi contributed 23 runs. Shivam Dubey was out after scoring 18 runs. When Mahendra Singh Dhoni returned to the pavilion after scoring 16 runs. While Jadeja remained unbeaten after scoring 32 runs. In the last over, CSK needed 20 runs from 6 balls and the ball was in the hands of Sandeep Sharma. But Dhoni and Jadeja could not win the match. Dhoni hit a brilliant sixer on the first ball but was out on the second ball. After this, CSK could score only 16 runs in the remaining 4 balls and lost the match. Vanindu Hasranga was the most successful bowler from Rajasthan, he took 4 wickets. While Joffra Archer and Sandeep Sharma got one success each.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals, batting first after losing the toss, had scored 182 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Royals did not have a good start as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed by Khalil after hitting a choke on the first ball. Then Nitish and Sanju Samson (20) added 82 runs in 42 balls. Nitish Rana scored 81 runs in 36 balls. Royals captain Riyan Parag (37), playing on his home ground, hit two fours and two sixes but his innings lacked rhythm. Royals could score only 37 runs in the last five overs. In the last over, Shimron Hetmyer scored 19 runs in 16 balls and took the score to 182 against Chennai. For Chennai, spinner Noor Ahmed took two wickets for 28 runs. Sri Lanka’s Mathisha Pathirana bowled economically in the death overs and took two wickets for 28 runs. While Khalil Ahmed took two wickets for 38 runs.
