IPL: Sunrisers Hyderabad beat CSK by five wickets Gujarati

Chennai: Chennai Super Kings faced one more defeat at home in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. In the 43rd match of the tournament, Sunrisers Hyderabad was defeated by five wickets. Chepauk being the home ground, a large number of spectators had come to support Dhoni’s team. But, fans were once again saddened by CSK’s continuous defeats this season. On the other hand, Hyderabad got its third win this season. With this, it was successful in defeating CSK in its own backyard for the first time.

Chasing the target of 155 runs, Hyderabad suffered an early setback when Abhishek Sharma returned to the pavilion without opening the account. At the second end, Travis Head was looking in form but was out cheaply (19). All the team’s hopes were pinned on Heinrich Klaasen, who is known for his explosive batting. But, he too was out after scoring 7 runs. Chasing a small score, Hyderabad lost three batsmen for 54 runs. However, Ishan Kishan, who came to bat at number three, played a brilliant inning of 44 runs in 34 balls and kept the team in the run chase.

Hyderabad got the fourth blow in the form of Kishan on the score of only 90 runs. But, an unbeaten partnership of 49 runs for the sixth wicket between Kamindu Mendis (32 not out) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (not out 19) ensured Hyderabad’s victory. Hyderabad won the toss and took the right decision to bowl first. Chennai had Sheikh Rashid caught out by Mohammed Shami on the very first ball of the innings. Ayush Mhatre and Sam Karan added 39 runs for the second wicket. Chennai’s bet seemed strong, but Harshal Patel dismissed Sem Karan. Karan scored nine runs.
